Finda Quiwa (pronounced- key wah) is one of six UWF Regional Missionaries serving around the world. She works with women, children, and youth with a focus on Liberia through the Leadership Development/Economic Empowerment Initiative. Her home county is Sierra Leone, where she is based in Freetown.

Invite her to your congregation or small group to learn about God’s love in action in the world. She can present in a worship service, to a UWF or Youth group, Sunday School class or any gathering. Consider having her meet Wesley Foundation university students, or take her to visit Wesley-Rankin or Dallas Bethlehem Center.
This is an opportunity to develop closer connections, prayer support, and learn about United Women in Faith’s international mission work and its impact on the lives of women and their families.  Quiwa will share stories of joys, challenges and how her work, supported by Mission Giving, is changing lives and improving livelihoods. Your monetary gifts are appreciated. Often the bond is strengthen when listeners feel they have invested in the missionary's work.

Finda Quiwa has served United Methodist youth and young women throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Today her primary focus is on Liberia. Finda attended Fourah Bay College at the University of Sierra Leone and earned her Bachelor of Social Sciences in Accounting. She received certification in management and administration from the Graduate School of Management in London through the Ghana campus. Finda completed studies in design, management and evaluation of community-based HIV/AIDS programs through Global Health Action. She has attended numerous seminars in Europe, Africa and the United States addressing issues surrounding justice.

Career Highlights:  Spending two months in Hong Kong, working with migrant workers from the Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Finda saw how vulnerable they were to injustices of sexism, racism and other inhuman treatment. Working with women enabled her to see how women are suffering in that part of the world, "all in the name of survival. I returned home with the conviction and commitment to do my best in making sure women and children get a better place in Africa."

Philosophy “I’ve charged myself to take up the challenge in helping other people who were in the same struggle," Finda says. “Leadership development identifies potential leaders who are capable of navigating through challenges…. As role models, women leaders encourage one another to improve their leadership skills…. Leadership development programs have proven to be substantial in improving organizations ….. Women leaders make informed decisions and enhance positive engagement.”
