JFON- North Central Texas PROGRAM IDEAS

These ideas can be used by small groups, Sunday School classes and circles, United Women in Faith or church events. They are happy to help others understand their important and compassionate mission.

1) Conversations or panels (in-person or via Zoom) where a combination of board members, Ana Arallenos-Baeza (JFON’s legal director), and Exec Dir Sid Earnheart talk about JFON, answer questions that people have about immigration and immigration policy, and usually share a personal story(s).

For example, Ana and Sid met with the Advocates for Justice and Peace Committee at Holy Covenant UMC in Carrollton. That meeting/conversation then turned into a subsequent in-person panel in front of the congregation one Sunday morning.

2) "Mythbusters" style presentation (fact and policy-based, apolitical) - given by Ana. This has been done at several churches, such as Highland Park UMC.

3) Know Your Rights presentations - given in Spanish by Ana or a board member

4) One-off Clinic to serve your neighbors or congregation

Contact Sid Earnheart, Executive Director for JFON-North Central Texas. He is open to other possibilities depending on what your group is interested in, want, or need.
